Easy sailing for HMS Pinafore musical
· Despite some hiccups in execution, the Rice Light Opera Society's production of Gilbert and Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore is buoyed by an energetic cast, capable orchestra and excellent singing in the two lead roles.
Lovett's I Love You, You're Perfect needs little change
· For a musical that is based almost entirely on dated suburban stereotypes, Lovett College's production of the musical I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change manages to connect well with the modern college audience. Composed of a series of vignettes that illustrate a range of romantic experiences, the show catalogues a hilarious multitude of gender role stereotypes.
Definitely, Maybe, then again maybe not
· Maybe Abigail Breslin (No Reservations) is charming in Definitely, Maybe. Maybe the plotline surpasses that of an ordinary chick flick. Nevertheless, the film is definitely annoying due to leading actor Ryan Reynolds's amateur level acting skills and his character's inability to make up his mind.
