Leebron releases Call to Conversation, seeks input
· President David Leebron e-mailed all undergraduate students in July with a "Call to Conversation." In the document, he wrote that Rice should aim to become more nationally focused and increase overall enrollment by about 30 percent, while selectively choosing programs to expand or contract.
Alcohol Policy enforcement by RUPD to become more strict
· Hosts of private parties found in violation of the Alcohol Policy will be sent to Student Judicial Programs for discipline under the Code of Student Conduct, according to Assistant Dean for Student Judicial Programs Don Ostdiek.
Fireworks, sister groups mark tamer O-Week
· Modified scavenger hunts, a fireworks display at matriculation and sister groups were some of the events that debuted during Orientation Week this year.
Bookstore now run by Barnes & Noble
· Barnes & Noble College Booksellers signed a five-year contract with Rice to operate the Rice Campus Store July 25. The renovated and renamed Rice Bookstore opened with a greater variety of books, less Rice merchandise and a less cluttered layout.
