2004-‘05 Campanile available

Sophomores, juniors and seniors can add another heavy book to their shelves, but they cannot complain that this one does not have pictures.

The 2004-‘05 Campanile yearbooks were expected to arrive Thursday morning, 2004-‘05 co-editor in chief Mike Pavlak said Wednesday, with distribution scheduled for 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Rice Memorial Center.

Students who were registered last year already paid for the book as part of their blanket-tax fees.

The yearbooks were originally scheduled to arrive Wednesday, but transportation from the publisher took longer than expected, delaying the arrival one day, Pavlak, a Martel College senior, said.

The Campanile is similar to previous editions, but does not have a blue plastic dust jacket like the 2003-‘04 yearbook, Pavlak, a Thresher copy editor, said. Teddy Bucher, the 2005-‘06 co-editor in chief, said he is pleased with last year’s design.

“The cover is relatively plain compared to past years, but it’s a really good book from everything I’ve seen,” Bucher said. “People are going to be happy with it.”

Students can pick up their books in the Campanile office on the second floor of Student Center. Books from previous years are also available for students who were registered undergraduates for those years.

2005 graduates can request to have a Campanile mailed to them for a shipping fee of $7.50. Bucher, a Jones College sophomore, estimated one-third of students will pick up their books during distribution this year.

“It usually takes a couple of years for all the books to get out of the office and to the students they belong to,” Bucher said. “We get in a huge amount of books each year, and it’s just a steady flow out. We’re always getting rid of books.”
