Lovett freshman dies suddenly
· Following Lovett College freshman Dale Lloyd's sudden and still unexplained death, students remembered him for his kindness, sense of humor and passion for Lovett and Rice football.
Aquarium to host formal
· Rice Program Council hopes a unique venue and cheaper tickets will attract students to Esperanza, Rice's fall formal, Nov. 18. The post-Homecoming formal, which is traditionally girl-ask-guy, will be held in the Downtown Aquarium's Nautilus Ballroom from 10 p.m.-2 a.m.
Faculty diversity, controversial Backpage discussed at forum
· The lack of faculty diversity and responses to the Thresher's Sept. 15 Backpage dominated discussion at a diversity forum Sept. 27 in Farnsworth Pavilion at the Student Center. About 100 people attended the event, and five faculty members served as panelists.
