Wiess selects CIC’s Leimbach as new RA
In a unanimous vote, the Wiess College Residential Associate Search Committee selected Christa Leimbach to become Wiess RA next fall.
Leimbach, who is the Assistant Director of the Community Involvement Center, said she chose to become a RA in order to interact more with the residential college and student community.
Leimbach said several Wiess students approached her about becoming a RA.
“I came to Rice about a year and a half ago, and the more students I got to know, the more I enjoyed it here,” Leimbach said.
Leimbach said she met many Wiess students through the CIC where she advised service organizations and counseled individual students interested in service. She also said she is excited to learn about Wiess customs and to start connecting with all the students.
“I want to provide a support network for students, become a part of their college careers and create a positive impact on the Wiess community,” Leimbach said.
Alex Bonnel, co-Chair of the Wiess RA Search Committee, said Leimbach was chosen for her warm, sociable personality and compatibility with the Wiess student body.
“We like the way that she is able to conduct conversations with many different types of students,” Bonnel said. “Wiess is extremely excited to have such an awesome person joining our community. She is a perfect fit.”
Leimbach will replace Development Research Analyst Doward and Christie Hudlow who are leaving at the end of this semester.
