Hey RMC, what time is it? Time to fix the clock
It’s 10:50 a.m. Students and faculty are scurrying across campus to their 11:00 classes. Suddenly, the Campanile clock in the Rice Memorial Center begins chiming the hour.
“Oh no!” students collectively cry. “I knew I shouldn’t have let my professor in my 10:00 drone on for an extra three minutes!”
Then we look at our watches, remember with relief that the chiming clock in the RMC is about 10 minutes fast and resume our scurrying.
Someone should really set that clock to the right time. It was about four minutes behind last semester, and last week’s power outage seems to have made it worse. Set the clock to strike the hour on the hour, and the class-to-class dash will be a little less stressful.
