Course eval success
Way to go, Registrar’s Office. Course evaluation response rates rose from 37 percent to 86 percent this semester, and it happened because you found a system students will actually use (see story, page 7). While we do not think you need to keep forking over thousands of dollars in prizes every semester, we hope you keep up the current course evaluation system. single-page responses, extended evaluation period and obligation to at least blank-fill evaluations before receiving grades all work. Really, really well. So, phase out the prizes, and keep listening to student opinion to get other jobs done this well.
