Women's cross dominates opener
· The women's cross country team opened up their 2007 campaign in the best way possible last Saturday, as Rice runners swept the top five spots at the Rice Invitational last Saturday. By sweeping the top positions, the Owls dominated a field that included six other teams, including Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, who finished a distant second to the Owls, 16 to 45.

· In 1995, the last year of the Southwest Conference's existence, the football team struggled in conference play. Now, 12 years later, the Owls are reminded how tough those days were.
Volleyball continues its road woes
· For most college students, weekends are a time of relaxation. But for the volleyball team, last weekend was anything but easy. The team dropped three straight matches at last weekend's Houston Invitational, lowering its record to 5-8 on the season.
